What is Haoabout?
Haoabout (好about) is a cultural media and events platform focused on cross-cultural exchange and international communication. It is an owned brand of Beijing VM Culture Ltd. (北京惟明月文化有限公司).
We create films and cultural experiences in China, primarily for international audiences. Food, craft, travel and everyday encounters offer ways to understand a place through the people who live there.
We work with destinations, cultural institutions and brands on media production, cultural programs and international communication. Our growing correspondent network brings together creators, on-camera contributors and local collaborators for each project.
Our approach
We want audiences to meet the people and everyday culture beyond familiar landmarks. A meal, a craft or a conversation can open a different perspective on a place.
Our hosts take part, ask questions and learn with the people they meet. We listen to local perspectives and give people room to share their own knowledge and experiences.
We choose the format to suit the story: cultural experience shorts, local culture series, travel vlogs, experiential travel and culture documentaries, or an event that brings people together.
